The Finnish Network For Organisations Supporting Family Caring
The Finnish Network For Organisations Supporting Family Caring (FNOSFC, Suomen omaishoidon verkosto) was established in 2005. The network brings together national organisations, foundations, communities and research institutions working in the field of family caring. Aims of the network include promotion of developing family caring, cooperation between different actors and general advocacy work.
The network-organisations cooperate both on national and regional level. Regional groups are working for example with mutual supervision, new models of service for family carers, training of volunteers and professionals. FNOSFC is a member of the Eurocarers-network.
Those who accept the principles and aims of the committee are admitted in the network.
There are 10 member organisations in the network in 2009:
Finnish Stroke and Dysphasia Association, The Alzheimer Society of Finland, The Association of Care Giving Relatives and Friends, FINFAMI=The Finnish Family Association Promoting Mental Health in Finland, The Finnish Kidney and Liver Association, The Finnish Parkinson Association, The Finnish Red Cross, Folkhälsans Förbund, The Association for Old Age and Neighbour Service and Service Foundation for People with Intellectual Disability,
Every member organisation nominates one representative and vice representative annually to the network. Chairperson and vice chair person are elected within the network and they, together with 3 - 4 representatives of member organisations, make up the working committee that is responsible for both preparative and executive work.
